The electrification of the automotive market is accelerating with a growing market share to the detriment of thermal vehicles. The recent increases in fuel prices are still pushing towards electric vehicles, especially for VTC drivers who do a lot of kilometers and who are on the front line of this price increase. Also, Free2Move and Uber have joined forces to offer specific offers to VTC drivers on electric vehicles, which are possible great opportunities for Citroën.

Thus Free2move, a leader in mobility solutions, is supporting Uber in its ambition to convert 50% of the vehicles available on the platform into electric vehicles by 2025. Free2move, whose objective is to offer its professional customers rental solutions at by the minute, by the day, by the month or by the year, supports VTC drivers in their ecological transition by offering them an offer adapted to their needs. Free2move thus offers many solutions to meet the needs of drivers via different rental options such as leasing, long-term rental or monthly subscription, allowing them to have the most recent Stellantis electric vehicle models in their hands. The offers also allow the trade-in of diesel vehicles.

Ambitious environmental and economic objectives

Uber aims to offer 100% Green vehicles (hybrid or electric) in 2025 on its platform. To support the VTC society, Free2move goes even further by offering exclusive offers on a wide range of 100% electric Stellantis group vehicles adapted to the VTC profession: e2008, ë-C4, Mokka-e, Zafira-e, e-SpaceTourer, e-Traveller, e-Rifter, e-Berlingo, Combo-e Life, Vivaro-e. As such, the new Citroën ë-C4 X perfectly meets the expectations and constraints of VTC drivers. The three players Free2move, Stellantis and Uber are joining forces to meet the environmental and economic challenge.

An offer adapted to the needs of VTC drivers

At the same time, in order to encourage VTC drivers to switch to electric, Uber has set up a program including a financial contribution as part of its Plan for Electric Mobility and an ecosystem facilitating the transition to electric. It is with Free2move that Uber has chosen to join forces to allow VTC drivers to benefit from adapted and flexible solutions for the acquisition or rental of vehicles from brands to which they are loyal. Indeed, the brands of the Stellantis group represent 25% of the vehicles available on Uber in France.

Laureline Serieys, General Manager Uber France, explains: “Free2move has been able to develop an offer adapted to the needs of VTC drivers both in terms of rental formulas and access to vehicles with long autonomy and adapted design. We are delighted with this partnership, which strengthens our ability to reach our goal of 50% electric vehicles by 2025. By combining our expertise, we are making the electric transition a reality of which VTC drivers are the figurehead. »

This partnership is in line with Stellantis' goal to halve its carbon emissions by 2030, aiming to achieve net zero carbon footprint by 2038 and achieve 100% battery electric vehicle sales in Europe.

"This partnership aims to accelerate and facilitate the greening of fleets to achieve the European objectives of the transition to all-electric and we are proud to be alongside Uber to support them in the mobility of tomorrow" Brigitte Courtehoux, CEO Free2move.

“With the ë-C4 X, Citroën offers an electric vehicle that is particularly suitable for VTC drivers. Produced in Europe, spacious, equipped with a large trunk, its comfort qualities will be appreciated on a daily basis, as well as its rapid charging capacity and its autonomy,” said Vincent Cobée, Managing Director of Citroën.

This partnership between Free2Move and Uber bodes well for Citroën since the brand offers 100% electric cars perfectly suited to the needs of VTC drivers who are looking for spaciousness and large boot volumes. In this, the C4 and C4 X respond perfectly to the need by providing, in addition, a very appreciable comfort for the customers. Great opportunities therefore for Citroën, which will be able to take advantage of this new market to increase its sales.
