September 2022 review - BELGIUM auto market

Strong recovery for the Belgian automobile market in September which follows the trend observed in other European countries, as a result of an improvement in production. Thus, 31,025 units were sold, an increase of 16.84% and which marks the second consecutive month of increase. However, this increase must be put into perspective with pre-covid trends which show that the Belgian market is still well below its average level, which is around 36,000 units in September.

In this context, sales of:

  • ALFA ROMEO are up 70.73% to 70 units for a market share of 0.23%

  • CITROËN are up 5.39% to 1,212 units for a market share of 3.91%

  • DS are up 30.72% at 200 units for a market share of 0.64%

  • FIAT are down 0.74% to 673 units for a market share of 2.17%

  • JEEP are down 51.28% to 114 units for a market share of 0.37%

  • MASERATI are 11 units

  • OPEL are down 49.16% to 696 units for a market share of 2.24%

  • PEUGEOT are up 51.55% to 2,252 units for a market share of 7.26%

In total, Stellantis sales are up 2.15% to 5,228 units for a market share of 16.85%. After a good month of August, sales of Citroën remain well oriented but with a performance less good than the market but better, however, than the Stellantis group.
