September 2022 Report - UK Automotive Market


With 225,269 units sold in September, the United Kingdom car market followed the trend observed in other European markets, registering an increase of 4.6%. Essentially, the automotive market is driven by electrified vehicles and in particular electric cars, which have seen an increase of 16.5% to 38,116 units, making this engine the second in the United Kingdom.

In detail, the sales of:

  • ABARTH are down 67.65% to 99 units

  • ALFA ROMEO are up 12.65% to 285 units for a market share of 0.13%

  • CITROËN are down 0.84% ​​to 4,271 units for a market share of 1.9%

  • DS are up 2.80% to 551 units for a market share of 0.24%

  • FIAT are down 47.74% to 1,986 units for a market share of 0.88%

  • JEEP are down 68.65% to 280 units for a market share of 0.12%

  • MASERATI are 91 units

  • PEUGEOT are down 11.87% to 5,999 units for a market share of 2.66%

  • VAUXHALL are down 8.91% to 9,673 units for a market share of 4.29%

In total, Stellantis sales are 23,235 units, down 15.92% for a market share of 10.31%. Citroën is therefore in very slight decline but is performing better than the other high-volume Stellantis brands, the brand is approaching Renault, which has seen its sales drop by 15.76% in the United Kingdom with 4,457 units.
