2022 nine-month review - UK auto market

As everywhere in Europe, the last two months have been on the rise for the UK car market, however these recent increases have not reversed the situation and the car market remains negative for the first nine months of the year. Thus, 1,208,368 units were sold, a drop of 8.2% compared to 2021 and just over 100,000 units lost. In this context, the big winners are electric vehicles, which saw their volume increase by 40.3% to 175,614 units to become the second motorization with 14.5% of the market.

In this context, the sales of:

  • ABARTH are down 45.57% to 1,100 units for a market share of 0.09%

  • ALFA ROMEO are up 12.91% to 1,303 units for a market share of 0.11%

  • CITROËN are down 6% to 22,807 units for a market share of 1.89%

  • DS are up 50.35% to 2,595 units for a market share of 0.21%

  • FIAT are down 4.13% to 15,396 units for a market share of 1.27%

  • JEEP are down 46.97% to 2,036 units for a market share of 0.17%

  • MASERATI are 576 units

  • PEUGEOT are down 7.47% to 42,807 units for a market share of 3.54%

  • VAUXHALL are down 8.57% to 66,048 units for a market share of 5.47%

In total, Stellantis sales are 154,668 units, down 8% for a market share of 12.80%. Here again, Citroën is doing better than the Stellantis group and a little better than the market and ahead of Renault (22,180 units).
